Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian born actor. She is most well-known in the United States for her performance as Felicity Smoak on The CW series Arrow. Rickards was raised and born in British Columbia. In her early years, she began her journey by exploring musical theater, and then dancing. In later years, she was hoping to get into professional acting. Her high school graduation was sooner than she anticipated and enrolled at Vancouver Film School where she was awarded the Acting Essentials Certificate. After finishing the program she took part in an open-call audition that led her to a booking agent. She was a student at the Alida Vocal Studio in Vancouver. Initially signed as a single-episode guest on the show, her relationship with show's co-star Stephen Amell coupled with positive fan reaction as well as her funny quips earned her first signing to be a regular co-star for all of the remaining episodes of the season.
